This story shows Liz Lighty’s journey to prom queen and represents much more.

Liz Lighty always thinks she’s too much of an outsider to rise in her small, rich Midwestern town. When Liz falls short of her dream to go to Pennington College, she’s forced to find a way to make it even if she doesn’t feel welcome. She decides to try for prom queen and the corresponding scholarship award that could make it or break it. She passes many challenges as an outsider but she will always follow the Lighty way.

I thought this book was amazing. I would recommend this book to people who want a challenging and emotional book. You should read this book because it follows many issues, from homophobes to judging somebody by their skin. It can also show you that most people have more to them than what you may think. After reading this book I want to learn more about people and not judge them because of being “different”.

Place a hold on You Should See Me in a Crown
