Following her rescue mission of the Quarter Quell, Katniss Everdeen awakens in a secret base under the place she thought was demolished- District 13. Peeta Mellark, one of the tributes of the 74th Hunger Games, is currently brainwashed and held prisoner by President Snow. Katniss also discovers a rebellion spreading in Panem, like a wildfire, putting her at the center of the revolution. Will Katniss be able to represent the Mockingjay while meeting President Coin’s goals? Will she rescue Peeta and turn him back to normal? Or will the ongoing pressure of being the center of the rebellion take her down before the final fight begins?
MockingJay by Suzanne Collins is the third and last book of the Hunger Games franchise where Katniss and her allies fight against society’s rules. I absolutely enjoyed the book, especially the drama and the rebellion elements. The author did a phenomenal job connecting The Hunger Games and Catching Fire segments to make a dramatic ending to the series. I would recommend this book to all who find action, suspense, drama, and reading the entire series pleasing. To add on, this book won Goodreads Choice Awards Best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction, Goodreads Choice Awards Favorite Book, Goodreads Choice Awards Favorite Hero, and Goodreads Choice Awards Favorite Heroine.
