Teens from all over the county submitted original artwork in our 2021 Summer Reading Art Contest. This year’s theme is “Reading Colors Your World” and Sophia Y. effectively captured the color and vibrancy of the theme with her picture of a rabbit surrounded by colorful bubbles. Awatif took second place with her picture of a book hovering over a waterfall spreading color everywhere it is open. Sophia earned a $100 gift card to Powells while Awatif gets a $50 gift card there.  Sophia’s art will also be used in a variety of posters and fliers promoting summer reading this summer.

We had 24 amazing submissions this year and a huge thank you goes out to all the teens who participated. Your craft and imagination is truly appreciated.

Look for news about how to participate in summer reading soon. Teens and tweens ages 11-18 will be able to register starting May 1st. Reading will earn participants a free prize book, help contribute to a local charity and give teens a chance to win a Baby Yoda poster. Check back on May 1st for all the details.
