Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

The Girl With All The Gifts is set in a world that has been taken over by a disease that makes humans crave flesh, and the people that have the disease are called Hungires. The main character, Melanie, is a 10-year-old girl imprisoned in a government sanctioned army base that is a Hungry. She is experimented on daily in many different ways. This book explores the changed world in the aftermath of this epidemic as Melanie and those around her struggle to accept and understand their world as it really is.

Not much can be said about this book without spoiling it, but I loved how fast-paced it was, how intricate and detailed the world was written, and how well rounded the characters were. I thought this book was fantastic, and I gave it a 4.5 out of 5 stars because it constantly kept me engaged and wondering what would happen next. It made me really care about the characters and become fascinated by the world that Carey created. I would recommend this book to those that like fast-paced dystopian adventure books with a touch of sci-fi.

Place a hold on the book here.
