Always the Almost is a story about a trans boy figuring himself out. Miles has come out as trans, but dealing with the repercussions. He is also a plianist tired of being in second place. However, after meeting the new boy in town, he starts to have feelings.
I love how this book casually represents a diverse group and is realistic. The main cast represents a wide range of ethnicities, genders, sexualities and personalities. Not only that, it givfes majore developpment for other characters outside of the main couple. It also illustrates that ‘happily ever after’ doesn’t mean the same as before. Changes can be good and nothing is perfect. I think this boo is perfect for romance fans, people who enjoy a great supporting cast, comedy lovers and anyone with an open mind and an open heart.
