Diverse Reads
Join a community of readers in exploring a variety of written works, including short stories, nonfiction, poetry and fiction that fairly represent the perspectives of marginalized groups. Diverse Reads covers an array of topics, including immigration, indigenous ecological knowledge, and invisible disabilities. All selections are short, and typically take about 1-2 hours.
Discussions take place the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m on Zoom. Readings are posted here and on event page. Registration required to receive the Zoom link. Register online today via WCCLS.org.

Asian American Voices
2 essays and 1 short story that speak to Asian American experiences, written by two poets and a musician
- Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner, published in The New Yorker, which has been expanded into a full length book to be published on 4/20/21
- A Letter to My Mother that She Will Never Read by Ocean Vuong, published in The New Yorker, adapted from his novel On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous
- On Minor Feelings by Cathy Park Hong, an excerpt from her book Minor Feelings, published in The Paris Review

Book Club Kits
Our kits make hosting your own book club easier than ever. Each kit includes 8-10 copies of a book, background information about the author, sample discussion questions and more! Kits are available for loan throughout the county, and have a six week checkout period.
