Read for Goats Winter Reading Challenge

image-841486_1920Pixabay800x533Join our “Read for Goats” Winter Reading Challenge between November 26 and January 18 to help earn a pair of goats for a family living in a rural area through Mercy Corps. The family will use the pair to start their own goat herd, sell the milk to earn income, and purchase goods they need. The pair of goats was donated to the library for this community event. Our community goal is to read 6,000 hours!

Reading trackers will be available at both the Cedar Mill and Bethany Libraries starting Monday, November 26 (or by printable PDF below). Kids of all ages are welcome to participate- time spent reading, being read to, or listening to a book all count! Challenge yourself to turn in as many trackers as possible. All reading trackers must be returned by Friday, January 18, 2019 to be counted.

We have added an online component this year through Beanstack! Participants may track their reading and earn goat badges and discover goat facts online, starting November 26.

Many families have already created accounts through summer reading program participation in 2018. If already registered, simply login and register for “Read for Goats: Winter Reading Challenge” Have fun!
