Fall THPRD Nature Mobile Visits

Select Wednesdays from 2:30-4:00 pm
The Nature Mobile brings the environment to the Cedar Mill & Bethany Libraries! Each visit will feature new ways for your child to explore the exciting role nature has in their lives. Your children will get to touch, smell, and see new things that will spark their imagination and grow their awareness of the world. Drop in and discover nature’s diversity! Ages 5 and up.

Changing Leaves and Forest Trees
September 12 – Cedar Mill | September 26 – Bethany
What trees make up our native forests? Dissect a seed, hunt for leaves, and learn about the changes our forests go through as autumn arrives.

Spooktacular Pumpkins 
October 10 – Cedar Mill | October 24 – Bethany
Jack O’Lanterns, Giant Pumpkins, and Pumpkin Kings, Oh My! Come learn about the history and folklore of this popular fruit.

Migrate/Hibernate/Acclimate
November 14 – Cedar Mill | November 28 – Bethany
How do animals survive once winter arrives? Peek inside where animals hide and see the lengths they go to travel from snow.

Weather and Water
December 12 – Cedar Mill | December 19 – Bethany
Why do we have so much rain in the winter? Become a raindrop and learn why water flows into our region during the wintertime.

Marianne was born in Oregon and spent most of her childhood in Beaverton. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon and, before choosing to become a librarian, spent over 15 years in advertising. Some of her favorite books growing up were Nothing At All, What the Witch Left, The Wednesday Witch and The Chronicles of Prydain series. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids and loves sneaking in episodes of her favorite TV series late at night.
