Preschool Power STEM Storytime-Seeds

Welcome to Preschool Power and our STEM Storytime topic: Seeds

This week we learned about seeds. We read about how a pumpkin seed grows into a pumpkin and found a little red house with no doors and no windows and a star inside! We sorted items by texture: fluffy, smooth and rough.

For our activity we looked at seeds. Try taking a walk with your child and see how many kinds of seeds you can find.

STEM Tip: Because children learn best when they’re excited about a topic and when they experience something directly, give them plenty of play time and follow their interests. When they get excited about something (spiders, bears, squirrels, volcanoes, or seeds) help them find factual books and story books on that topic.
