A Few Tips for Making the Most of Lynda.com
Create a playlist. Find a course that piques your interest, but not ready to dive into the lesson. Add it to your playlist! To create a playlist follow these steps from Lynda.com:
To create a new playlist:
Sign in to your Lynda.com account.
Hover over Hi, [Your Name] and click Playlists.
Click Create new playlist.
Enter the Name of the playlist (required) and Description (optional).
Note: In some views, you may see the option to Create rather than to Save your new playlist.
Once you create a playlist, there are two ways to add courses:
Within the search results, click the + Plus icon to the right of the title. Plus will appear when you hoover over the title section.
Add a course to a playlist from the course homepage by clicking the Add to Playlist button above the video player.
Find a learning path. Learning paths are lists of recommended courses related to a specific topic or skill. The curated lists allow for focus on a topic and skill boosting, plus many include a certificate upon completion. You can explore and filter by field by heading to the Learning Paths page. Learning Paths can also be found via the filter options in the left column of any search results.
Take what you need. Some courses may not be what you were expecting or maybe you only needed to learn one element of a multi-lesson course. No need to feel guilty if you want to abandon a course. Lynda is designed to offer small “bites” of learning for a reason– you can fill up on new skills or just enjoy a taste.
