Songwriters in the Round • Hosted by the ambassador of song, Steve Hale
Join us for an evening with three local songwriters, each taking turns playing an original composition and sharing the personal story that led to its creation. Here’s our line-up:
An Oregon native, Steve Hale has been a singer, songwriter and producer in the Northwest for many years. He’s played and toured in many different bands with varying styles: from soul, to power pop (Kashmir), to glam funk (RIA), to bringing it back to the source with a single guitar and voice. www.stevehale.com
Jacob Westfall is a young veteran of the Portland music scene. After appearances on shows like NBC’s The Voice (S12) and ABC’s American Idol (S1) Jacob needed a change and escape from musical burnout. Often seen as one of Portland’s hardest working musicians, he has gained recognition as one of the Pacific Northwest’s fastest growing singer-songwriters and can be seen performing regularly at festivals throughout the area.
Portland native Crystal Lariza has been frequenting the Northwest music scene for over a decade. She has rocked the stages from Portland’s Star Theater to Rocky Grass Festival in Lyons, Colorado playing with several major Portland projects such as Cooper and the Jam, Shiny Stone, the Lariza Sisters and her current bands – Corner, a folk pop five piece and Never Come Down, a six piece Americana-Bluegrass band.
