How the Willamette Valley Became the New Capital of American Food & Wine @ Bethany Library Annex
Jun 4 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Wallet Hub just named Portland the “2018 Best Food City in America” and Wine Enthusiast Magazine named the Willamette Valley its “Worldwide Wine Region of the Year” in 2016. Portland now has a solid reputation as a new culinary Mecca. How in the world did we get here? A number of factors combined to build this culinary bully over time. In this companion presentation to his latest book, Unique Eats and Eateries: Portland, Oregon, Adam Sawyer provides a multi-media presentation on the history of how Portland solidified its reputation as a new culinary Mecca. He will also share examples of the Willamette Valley’s buffet of eateries and will read inspiring stories from his book. This program is free and will appeal to adults, ages 18+.
