Using library computer system, check in and shelve materials as directed. May also pull holds or shelve, depending on work flow.
Qualifications: Must be at least 14 years old. Must follow direction well. Able to concentrate and pay attention to details. Able to sort and organize alphabetically and numerically. Ability to lift books and push book carts. Able to work independently after being trained. Bending, kneeling, squatting and stretching required.
Commitment: One 2-hour shift weekly for a minimum of 6 months.
Tech Services volunteers prepare new library materials for circulation. This behind-the-scenes work entails strict attention to detail and accuracy as well as the hands-on care and precision required to cover and label items.
Follow department procedure to stamp, label and cover library materials in preparation for circulation.

The Adult Services Department provides a number of programs and classes for library patrons, including drop-in computer labs as well as individual instruction. Volunteers also help librarians catalog materials in languages other than English.
Receive donations and sort them according to shop’s Incoming Donation Procedures.
Qualifications: Ability to stand during 3 hour shift. Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry donated items. Ability to follow donation guidelines. Written and verbal communication skills to work in a team environment.
Examine merchandise for quality according to guidelines and policies of shop. Price and tag merchandise. Sort and package merchandise according to themes and seasons. Research area of expertise at least once a year by visiting other retailers.
Qualifications: Interest in a specific type of merchandise or department (e.g. linens, shoes, housewares.) Able to research labels, brands, and prices. Able to lift and carry donated items. Written and verbal communication skills to work in a team environment.
