Molly is a serial crusher. She’s liked 26 guys so far, to be exact. The only problem is, none of the crushes have been reciprocated. At least, not that she knows of. Molly has never had a boyfriend, or even a kiss, unlike her popular twin sister Cassie who seems to have found the perfect girlfriend. Plus, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a perk- a cute, single, interested guy friend. Molly’s prospects are finally looking good until she starts her new job and meets her new coworker-a cute, single, interested boy. Molly is now faced with the exact opposite problem she’s faced her whole life. She must now handle her usual family drama, self-esteem issues, and friends with the new added obstacle of a love triangle of sorts. Follow along with Molly as she handles her newly found love life with her well meaning family, old friends, and her twin sister Cassie by her side.
I am a huge fan of realistic fiction, it’s my go-to genre. However, I’m generally not a fan of romance books. They tend to focus solely on the romance without developing the characters or the plot in any way. Luckily, this book manages to center around romance and not fall into those traps. The characters all have lives outside of romance, and they’re not all perfect models with perfect lives. The characters are realistically written, with flaws and unconventional looks. Many of the characters are not straight as well, something not often seen in romance books. This book is a breath of fresh air from the traditional beautiful, helpless woman falls for the handsome, perfect man. Even those who are not normally a fan of romance will love this book. There’s humor, modern references, love, and accurately portrayed teens. What more could you want?
