Social Media Workshops

These evening workshops cover the basics of social media. Each week the workshop will focus on a specific social media website.

Intro to Your iPad

This class offers hands-on help for iPad owners. Class topics include buttons and basics, connecting to Wi-Fi, photos and music on your iPad plus checking out e-books from your library.

This three-part class takes place during one week. Students will need to bring their own iPad, fully charged, for hands-on time in class.

Digital Photo Editing Basics

This class is designed for people who are interested in learning more about editing digital photos on a computer. The class will cover basic terminology and skills that can be used with a variety of photo editing software. Topics include: editing overview, cropping, brightening and red eye removal. Editing students should have previous experience using the mouse or touchpad to move around in a program.

This is a two session class, registration is required.

Chinese iPhone and iPad Class

This four part class on staying connected with your iPhone or iPad is taught entirely in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) by volunteer technology instructors.

The class covers camera, photos and WeChat plus general use of iPhones and iPads.

Registration is required and students must bring their own iPhone or iPad to class.  Cedar Mill Library has a wait list for future classes if the current class is full.

Volunteers and staff will be available for help with practicing computer skills, continuing class exercises, e-readers and answering questions related to programs such as Word, Explorer and Email. All skill levels are welcome; prior photography experience is not required. Students must have a digital camera or a device (phone/tablet) that can take digital photosThe library will host a culminating event in June to showcase the projects created during the workshop. Registration is required for these classes and space is limited. Registration will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 13th.
