Mock Battles for 3rd and 4th Graders

Introduces unexperienced teams to the battle structure.
  • Registration is required and opens Monday, December 4. Team registration is now FULL, some individual spots available.
  • Sign up for 1 session only.
  • Individuals on the same team should coordinate their registration before signing up in order to battle together- please have member names, team’s name, school, grade and a contact phone number ready.

OBOB TYK (Test Your Knowledge) for 3rd-5th graders

Concentrates on the book content and questions.
  • No registration needed.
  • Questions for TYK sessions will be different at each location.
  • Bring pencil and paper to write answers on. Participants sit on floor. Limited adult seating.
  • Held at 2 locations- Bethany (15160 NW Laidlaw Rd., Suite 120) and Cedar Mill Library (12505 NW Cornell Rd., Suite 13) See details below.

OBOB 101 for Grown-ups

Want to know what OBOB is all about? This workshop will provide an overview of the program, cover what to expect during a battle and give tips on preparing kids to have fun and be successful. An optional screening of the spring 2017 OBOB state final battle will be shown at the end of the presentation.

OBOB is a statewide reading program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries. More on the OBOB website.
We will have the list available in the summer (or as soon as the official list is available).
We put all the OBOB titles together on a special shelf. Place holds on all the titles you need. We also offer two Kindles for 3rd-5th division and two Kindles that combine the titles from 6-8 and 9-12 divisions.
Not all the titles are available for purchase.
We schedule all our OBOB practices for Grades 3-5 during the Beaverton School District winter break.
We offer two types of OBOB practice sessions:
1.Mock Battles for 3rd and 4th graders. Registration is required. Individuals on the same team should coordinate their registration.
2.OBOB TYK (Test Your Knowledge) for 3rd -5th graders who want to test their knowledge by answering questions. This session does not look like a battle. No registration necessary.
Yes, you can. Your child will be added to another team during our practice battle.
Due to the limited space, only registered participants can be accommodated in the room.
Every year we offer questions for 3-5 division. Some years we are able to offer questions for 6-8 division.
We publish our questions on the website as soon as we are done with the practice sessions.
We are able to offer practice sessions ONLY to participants of the 3-5 division.
