Library Rhythm/Drum Circle

You’re invited to join the library’s Feel the Rhythm Community Drum Circle. Develop your rhythmic abilities while strengthening the group as a whole. Come join the beat!

Drum circles have four intentions. First, everyone has Rhythm. A drum circle allows you to explore your inner rhythm, in a nonjudgmental environment with friendly people. Second, to promote Community. We learn that by listening to each other, each person has something to contribute, and we all enjoy the collective rhythm produced. Third is Health and Wellness. Drumming not only helps reduce stress we’ve built up during the day, it also helps us connect with our mind, body and spirit, and helps create a balance. The fourth, and most important, is to have FUN!

Bring your favorite drum &/or percussion instrument &/or instruments that sound great with drums! (shaker, tambourine, bell, flute, etc.) Please bring extra drums &/or percussion instruments if you have any to share. And of course, be sure to bring your friends, a beverage (non-alcoholic) in a closed container & your enthusiasm!

This library program is designed for adults and older teens (age 16+). No prior experience required.

Meet in the upstairs community room on the “last” Tuesday of every month.

6:30pm – arrive, set up chairs & instruments
6:40pm – welcome & drum
7:50pm – put away instruments, stack chairs, say goodnight
8:00pm – close door to room
